Jacelyn Tay Wedding

Jacelyn Tay Wedding: Latest News Updates According to local publication 8 DAYS, former Star Search winner and MediaCorp actress Jacelyn Tay is finally tying the knot with her 42-year-old boyfriend, Brian Wong, after two years of courtship on Oct 10.

35-year-old Jacelyn, who wants a hot air balloon wedding and once said she can never be tied down, has finally found her Mr. Right.

However, the actress revealed that it was definitely not love at first sight for the couple. They used to be business acquaintances when Brian was still the VP of Sales for MediaCorp, and Jacelyn, the owner of The Health Club (now known as Body Inc.).

Love blossomed between the pair one year later when they met again through mutual friends in 2007. She took him to church and things took a slow but steady turn then.

Celebrity hair-stylist David Gan and make-up guru Andy Lee will be taking care of the bride-to-be, who will be decked in Vera Wang on her big day.

The couple will hold their private wedding banquet at the Pan Pacific Hotel with approximately 560 guests, including celebs like Thomas Ong, Chen Hanwei, Yvonne Lim, Pat Mok, Christopher Lee and many more.

Neelam Kothari

Neelam Kothari: Latest Updates About Sameer Soni has major plans after his stint on reality show Bigg Boss 4 - he will tie the knot with former actress and now jewellery designer Neelam Kothari and direct a movie.

"People have been speculating that I'll be marrying Neelam in December. But that's not true. Technically if I am able to stay in Bigg Boss till the end, there's no question of a wedding within this year. But after Bigg Boss, I do look forward to it," Sameer told IANS before entering the fourth season of the reality show, which kickstarted on Sunday.

What was Neelam's reaction when he gave a nod to Bigg Boss 4?

"Oh well, she was very supportive but kept giving me the jitters by making me feel as though I am going for the Kargil War! She was making it tougher for me...but I was cool and I'll just think I'm on a vacation," he quipped.

Lately, Sameer has been making frequent appearances in Bollywood movies - he featured as a gay fashion designer in Madhur Bhandarkar's Fashion and was applauded for his portrayal of a director in Karan Johar's I Hate Luv Storys.

Now, he says he is ready to take his I Hate Luv Storys role seriously in real life.

"I had been working on a script since a long time. The script is ready, done and final. I have to approach the actors I have in mind. But now all that will happen after Bigg Boss. And yes, I will be directing the project as well. At least that's the plan," said the 42-year-old, who was an investment banker in New York, before making a foray into showbiz.

The smart and suave Sameer is a pleasant surprise on a show like Bigg Boss, which is usually a pot full of controversial names. But he reveals that he has been declining the show the past three years.

"This is my first reality show. I had been offered various dance shows, etc in the past and was even asked to do 'Bigg Boss' in all past seasons. But honestly, I wasn't ready to be judged so openly by the public.

"The fear of being judged was holding me back, but now here I am to fight the fear of being judged. Over the years, I have come out of it. Now I want the audience to see my personal side. I want to share what I am," he added.

For Sameer, the biggest challenge of being in a show like Bigg Boss is its very concept - living with 13 other strangers in a locked up house with no communication with the outside world.

"I have been living alone for the past 15 years. I have had all the space to myself. So how I get along with the people and share my space will be a big challenge."

Unlike many others, who boldly claim that the show is a platform to get an image makeover or to boost their dull careers, Sameer says his entry on the show has nothing to do with his profession.

"Professionally, I'm on quite a roll. My two recent films have been successful and I am very satisfied. This show is for my personal growth," he said.

In a fast paced match at the overflowing Major Dhyan Chand Stadium, India dominated Pakistan almost from the go, hammering the first goal within minutes and going for the break at 4-2. On resumption the Indian men did not let Pakistan gain the upper hand and scored at regular intervals to keep the pressure and win 7-4 for a

semifinal clash with England.

Congress president Sonia Gandhi and her son and party general secretary Rahul Gandhi were among the thousands of spectators cheering India to go for the win, raising hopes of a medal in hockey too at the Delhi Commonwealth Games.

Two archery gold and one each from the shooting range, wrestling arena and tennis stadium took the tally to 29, just one short of the record 30 gold bagged at Manchester Games eight years ago.

India's medal count at 2100 IST stood at 29 gold, 22 silver and 22 bronze for a total of 73. Australia led the table with 60 gold, 36 silver and 35 bronze. England came third with 25-45-30.

Deepika Kumari, the 16-year-old archery sensation, set off Sunday's gold haul by winning in the individual recurve. The daughter of an auto-rickshaw driver in Ranchi, she became India's first individual gold winner from archery in the Games. She beat Athens Olympics bronze medallist Alison Jane Williamson of England 6-0.

Rahul Banerjee also won a gold in individual recurve event while Jayanta Talukdar and veteran Dola Banerjee and got a bronze each.

With four medals coming their way Sunday, India ended their campaign in archery with a rich haul of eight medals -- three gold, one silver and four bronze.

Rising tennis star Somdev Devvarman rounded off the day bagging the gold in the men's single's.

There was no let up in the shooters good showing with Harpreet Singh taking the gold in the men's 25 metres centre fire pistol event while the silver went to Vijay Kumar after a dramatic four-way shoot-off and former world champion Manavjit Singh Sandhu trapped the bronze.

The fourth gold of the day came from Olympics bonze medallist wrestler Sushil Kumar in the freestyle 66 kg category.

Joginder Kumar and Anuj Kumar won the silver in the freestyle 120kg ande 84kg category respectively. Anil Kumar won the bronze in the 55 kg category.

It was an all Indian affair in the women's tennis doubles for the bronze that saw Sania Mirza and Rushmi Chakravarthi beating Nirupama Sanjeev and Poojashree Venkatesha.

Somdev Devvarman

Somdev Devvarman: Latest News Upates About India's Rushmi Chakravarthi shocked third seed Katie O'Brien to breeze into the singles quarter-finals along with Sania Mirza and Somdev Devvarman even as Rohan Bopanna's singles challenge ended in the tennis event of the Commonwealth Games, here on Wednesday.

Rushmi had an extremely good day in office as her 1-6 7-6 7-5 win over her British rival was the first upset of the tennis event. Later she combined with Sania to seal a berth in the women's doubles semifinals.

Ranked as low as 616, Rushmi's win over a player, placed 144th in the WTA charts, was one of the biggest in her career.

"It's the first time I've played her and she's seeded, so it was tough one. It was difficult as I am not playing on the circuit. It was one of the best wins of my career," Rushmi said after the match.

The fourth seeded Sania-Rushmi pair humbled Scotland's Mhairi Brown and Jocelyn Rae 6-1 7-6(2) in the second round to become the first team to seal a semifinal berth.

Earlier in the day, top seed Somdev crushed Sri Lanka's Amresh Jayawickreme 6-0 6-1 in men's singles while Sania overpowered Cook Island's Brittany Teei 6-0 6-2 in a women's singles second round match.

However, disappointment too was in store for the hosts as big hope Bopanna went down fighting 2-6 6-7 (5) against second seed and world number 133 Peter Luczak of Australia and Poojashree Venkatesh lost 6-7 3-6 to Guernsey's fifth seed Heather Watson.

Bopanna got his smile back in the evening session when he and Somdev overwhelmed Scotland's Jamie Murray and Colin Fleming to move to the men's doubles quarter-finals.

The second seeded Indian pair beat the Scottish pair 6-3 6-1 in the first round.

As the tournament has churned out several lop-sided contests, Bopanna-Luczak match was awaited for some good action and the two players did not disappoint.

Bopanna, ranked 587, came to this tournament after a morale boosting show in the Davis Cup tie against Brazil and carried the confidence into the tough match.

The home fans expected Bopanna to create an upset win having watched him play fantastically against world number 23 Thomaz Bellucci and top-100 player Ricardo Melo of Brazil in Chennai last month.

However, it was not Bopanna's day though he fought well.

Bopanna's played aggressively, relying on his big ground strokes but it gave plenty of chances to Luczak, who had better control over his strokes and was able to exploit the chinks in his opponent's armour.

Earlier, playing first match of the day for the hosts, Somdev completed his win in 41 minutes while Sania took 55 minutes to send Brittani packing.

The Lankan hardly challenged Somdev and surrendered without any fight. He lost points even when he was in advantageous position in a few games.

He was up 40-0 in the first game but could not pocket the game, committing too many unforced errors to hand Somdev a break. The Indian wrapped up the opening set in 20 minutes

The Lankan finally went onto board by holding his serve in the first game of the second set.

"I think I played a lot better today. The win yesterday helped me a lot. I served pretty well, I did not drop a serve and was making life tough for him," Somdev said.

The 97th ranked Indian said Australian players will pose a good challenge for them.

"Australia has the deepest team. They are all seeded. They are considered favourites but it will exciting," he said.

Sania, who had got a bye in the first round, scored an easy win but said easy opponents could be tricky sometime.
