Eid-ul-Fitr Being Celebrated Today

Eid-ul-Fitr is being celebrated in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and some parts of Gilgit-Baltistan and Balochistan today (Friday), after the announcement of sighting of Shawwal moon by Peshwar's Qasim Ali Khan Mosque .

Various congregations of Eid prayers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were held in the province after announcement of Shawwal moon sighting by a committee of Peshawar's Qasim Ali Khan Mosque led by Mufti Shahb-ud-Din Popalzai.

Religious elders participated in the meeting, saying that they received 20 persons, including two women, witnesses of sighting Shawwal moon.

The largest Eid congregation of Eid prayers in Peshawar was held at Charsadda Road. The Eid prayers were also held at Governor House in Peshawar attended by Governor Awais Ahmed Ghani, Chief Minister Amir Hyder Hoti, other ministers and dignitaries.

In Dera Ismail Khan a large congregation of Eid prayers was held at Police Lines attended by DIG DIK Imtiaz Shah, DCO DIK Khan Bakhsh Marwat and DCO Tank Amir Latif. However, local committee of religious elders rejected the provincial government's decision of Eid on Friday and they call the population to observe fast on Friday.

The people in Hazara division of KP observing fast today and will observe Eid with other parts of Pakistan on Saturday.

In northern parts of Balochistan people in Qila Abdullah, Qila Saifullah and Muslim Bagh celebrating Eid on Friday after announcement of moon sighting by the local committees. The most parts of Balochistan will celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on Saturday.

But in addition to live-streaming the show on SU2C’s Facebook page, they’ve also arranged for site visitors to donate to the charity with Facebook Credits, the virtual currency program they launched earlier this year. They’ve also agreed to waive their fees for the partnership, which marks the first time the company is launching such a large-scale charity effort.

The Facebook link will be mentioned online and during the live, one-hour fundraising event, which will be broadcast commercial free on CBS, FOX, NBC, E!, G4, HBO, Showtime, VH1, and other cable networks tonight at 8 p.m. ET/PST. Celebrity guests for the show, which was designed as a follow-up to 2008’s telethon, will include George Clooney, Will Smith, Denzel Washington, Reese Witherspoon, Gwyneth Paltrow, Elizabeth Edwards, and cancer survivors Christina Applegate, Maura Tierney, and Lance Armstrong. After figuring out tie-in deals with Hulu (live-streaming) and Twitter (free promoted trending topic of the day at #standup2cancer), the marketing team turned their attention to Facebook, which was looking to promote their Credits program beyond gaming. And so the partnership was born.

Lent says the deal with Facebook came together last week with the goal of enticing younger users to make donations. “As most people know, young people aren’t watching as much television as they did in the past,” she said. “In conjunction with our partnerships with Hulu, YouTube, all our broadcast networks and others to stream the show for internet viewers, Facebook offered us the ability to capture their attentions online and make the donation process very seamless.”

New pictures have surfaced of Tiffany Livingston, the 21-year-old Playboy model who was detained after allegedly trying to open a plane door in mid-flight, according to reports.

Livingston was aboard JetBlue Flight 522 on Thursday, flying from Orlando, Fla., to Newark, N.J., when the woman suddenly jumped out of her seat and tried to open the door of the plane, police told the New York Post.

An unnamed source told the newspaper that it was a bad case of high anxiety mixed with not taking her medication.

"She said she's gone through this before, but never this bad, and didn't have...her medication," a source told the paper.

Kathleen Longsderff, Agency Director at Livingston's former agency says, "[Livingston] has dealt with minor anxiety issues in the past, however has always maintained a high level of professionalism in the modeling business."

Longsderff, of New England Models Group, says that Livingston "began modeling in New England and then traveled to Paris in 2008. She went on to successfully model in Barcelona, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Singapore."

Livingston, from Merrimac, R.I., was placed under federal custody on Thursday, reports the New York Post. Charges are still pending.

The screenplay for this film movie was written by Abhinav. The Director Abhinav made an out and out entertainer with an eye at the classes and masses and he succeeds in his endeavour. The movie was well deserving of these awards since the acting, action and the songs were extraordinary.

DABANGG is special for two more reasons: S. Vijayan’s stunts and Sajid-Wajid’s music, with an additional song by Lalit Pandit and good performaces from all actors. Talking of action scenes, Salman’s introduction at the start and the fight-to-finish in the climax will send the classes and masses in frenzy. To state that the action scenes are outstanding, especially the fight in the finale, would be an understatement.

The climax will be one of the prime reasons for repeat viewing, for sure. In fact, I’ll go out on a limb and say Dabangg even exceeded expectations – Salman Khan played Rajnikanth; awesome moves in the fight sequences; and the plot was loosely coherent. Yet, it wasn’t my kind of a film. Vouching for the Salman Khan lovers is easy though, thanks to the deafening cheers at every line Salman Khan mouthed and even at some non-verbal, action-packed sequences.

Salman Khan is back with a bang, I mean the bang, actually Dabangg. Not to say that he needed to do much to keep his fan following in place. However, even if you weren’t a die heard fan of Sallu’s, chances are you’re going to get converted into it the moment you’ve watched this one. Dabangg is an action film with vignettes of comedy. And if you intend to do some bindaas paisa vasool time pass this weekend, don’t forget to watch this Salman Khan starrer.

Plot: Salman Khan plays Chulbul or Robinhood Pandey, a corrupt hot headed but well meaning cop who can’t decide whether to hate or love his younger step brother Makhee. He doesn’t get along with his father and loses his mother, the one person he truly loves pretty early into the film. But if you want to watch Dabangg for a script or story, there really is none and in every probability you most miss its presence either.

Positives: The movie is one of the easiest watches of our times. It wastes no time in instructing and educating. It shows things as they are. Whether it is corruption, peculiar accents or Salman’s violent behavior. And it is amazing how much fun you have at his idiosyncrasies. The dialogues are to die for. They are impacting and funny, both at the same time.

Action: The action in the film has streaks from Rajnikant films and even though it is mostly unbelievable and larger than life, we don’t question it. Infact we enjoy it. Such is the aura of this actor called Salman Khan who does everything with so much style .
